When discussing the cut of a wheelchair conversion van, it’s important to know that this applies to the lowered floor within the van. This is one of the most critical parts of building a wheelchair conversion van. In addition to the ramp, the lowered floor allows a person in a wheelchair to enter and exit the vehicle easily and comfortably. The lowered floor starts at the rear bumper and extends towards the front of the vehicle in both long and short cut vans. However, each cut extends forwards to a different point in the van.

In a long cut wheelchair accessible conversion van, the new lowered floor extends to just behind the driver and passenger seats.
